HP has not made a laptop without wireless in 15 years +. What are you seeing in the device manager or the taskbar in the lower right corner? Give us a bit of a story here. But there should be a key on the upper row of keys with a little wireless icon and hit that in conjunction with the fn key and it might just turn on the wireless adapter.

Your model has a physical wireless on-off switch above the keyboard. See p. 2-3 of the manual here
Try turning on wireless with the button. Also right click on the icon with the x through it and see if you have an "enable" option. Also go into network settings, network connections in the control panel and see if the wireless connection can be enabled there.
Page 5-1 there does not appear to be an option in the BIOS to enable or disable wireless. If none of this works I would say you have a bad wireless card. They are easy and inexpensive to replace.
