Hi @DKLV,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
I'd be glad to help you!
If the Wi-Fi button on your HP Pavilion Laptop PC 15-eg3000 has disappeared and pressing the function keys (FN + F numbers) doesn't work, here are a few troubleshooting steps you can try:
1. Check for Wi-Fi Adapter in Device Manager
- Press Windows + X and select Device Manager.
- Expand Network Adapters.
- Check if the Wi-Fi adapter is listed (it may be named something like "Realtek", "Intel", or "Qualcomm").
- If the Wi-Fi adapter is missing, it may have been disabled.
- Right-click and select Enable if it's disabled. If it's not visible at all, try scanning for hardware changes:
- In Device Manager, click Action > Scan for hardware changes.
2. Reinstall Wi-Fi Driver
- Go to the HP Support website and download the latest Wi-Fi driver for your specific model.
- Uninstall the existing Wi-Fi driver in Device Manager:
- Right-click on the Wi-Fi adapter > Uninstall Device.
- Reboot the laptop, and Windows will attempt to reinstall the driver automatically.
- If not, use the downloaded driver to install it manually.
3. Enable Wi-Fi in Network Settings
- Go to Settings > Network & Internet > Wi-Fi.
- Check if the Wi-Fi toggle is visible and turned on. If it's missing, the adapter may be disabled.
4. Run Network Troubleshooter
- Open Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot > Additional Troubleshooters.
- Click on Network Adapter and run the troubleshooter to detect and fix any issues.
5. Check BIOS Settings
- Restart your laptop and press Esc or F10 to enter the BIOS.
- Look for the Integrated Devices or Wireless section and ensure the Wi-Fi adapter is enabled.
6. Check Airplane Mode
- Make sure your laptop isn’t in Airplane Mode. You can check this in Settings > Network & Internet or by pressing the Airplane Mode button if available.
If none of these steps resolve the issue, there may be a hardware fault, and it could require professional assistance. Let me know if you need help with any of these steps.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance
