Hello, Iam having issues with my laptop staying connected to wifi unless iam within 10 feet of the router. I broke the screen off the laptop and no longer have a webcam and there is a wire not attached on the other side (guessing it doesn't get used for wifi ?) I replaced the front cover, inside bezel, and hinges. I cant take it to work and use it as the router is in another building so i can only use it at home next to the router. I've tried updating the driver but its up to date. Tried the BIOS thing, didn't work. I've tried a lot of what I've seen online but this is very confusing and nothing has worked!

Any help would be awesome

They are antennas for the  wifi adapter. Same as your other devices at home such as a TV. In some areas you need a high gain, very good antenna to be able to get good reception. You have to them back properly.

Hope this make sense.

I'm actually using the following USB adapter for my 11 years old machine. For testing, I use both of them (internal and external)

I've got a very good result within 20m. You can buy a similar one much cheaper.
