If you're experiencing issues connecting to Wi-Fi on your HP Pavilion G Series laptop running Windows 7, you can follow these steps to troubleshoot and resolve the problem.
Check Wi-Fi Hardware Switch: Ensure that the physical Wi-Fi switch or button on your laptop is turned on. It's usually located on the sides or front of the laptop.
Restart Your Laptop: Sometimes, a simple restart can fix connectivity issues. Restart your laptop and see if it can connect to Wi-Fi after rebooting.
Check Wireless Adapter: Make sure that your wireless adapter is enabled. Here's how:
- Right-click on the "Computer" or "My Computer" icon on your desktop and select "Manage."
- In the Computer Management window, click on "Device Manager" in the left panel.
- Expand the "Network Adapters" section, and right-click on your wireless adapter (it might be named something like "Wireless Network Adapter" or "Wi-Fi Adapter") and choose "Enable" if it's not already enabled.
Update Wireless Driver: Outdated or corrupted wireless drivers can cause connectivity problems. Visit the HP support website to download and install the latest drivers for your wireless adapter.
Forget and Reconnect to the Network:
- Click on the Wi-Fi icon in the system tray (bottom right corner of the screen) and select your Wi-Fi network.
- Click on "Forget" to remove the saved network settings.
- Reconnect to your Wi-Fi network by selecting it and entering the correct password.
Check for Network Issues:
- Ensure that your Wi-Fi router is functioning correctly by checking if other devices can connect to it.
- Reset your router if necessary by unplugging it for a few seconds and then plugging it back in.

Scan for Malware and Viruses: Malware and viruses can disrupt network connections. Run a full system scan using your antivirus software to check for any infections.
System Restore: If the issue started recently, you can try using System Restore to revert your computer to a previous state when the Wi-Fi was working correctly.
If you've tried all these steps and still can't connect to Wi-Fi, there may be a hardware issue with your wireless adapter.
