hp envy x360
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My wifi connection will disconnect intermittently. I have tried pretty much everything in the forum I can find except for deleting the driver and reinstalling the drivers.  kinda scared to do that.  Is this the last fix possible.

Hi, this is a very common issue with the Envy x360, one that hasn't been resolved yet to my knowledge. I would suggest returning your laptop if you can. I'm still dealing with the same issues as well as others with mine, and HP support has been the opposite of helpful. There are many posts describing the exact same issue with this laptop but HP refuses to admit that it is a problem.

HP Noooooo. I just bought this laptop and the wifi keeps disconnecting.  No solutions on thie board or people saying take it back there is no hope.  I have 15 days to return this.  Let me know if there is anything else to do after updating the drivers.

wifi works great for all other phones and laptops in the same room.

Hi, your laptop is a Pavilion with a Realtek adapter, while the laptops I've seen with these issues are usually HP Envy laptops with a specific Intel adapter, so you may have a different issue. When the wifi isn't working, if you right click on the wifi icon on the tray and run Windows diagnostics, does it say "default gateway not available"? If so, this is something that I believe was introduced in the latest Windows, which might be able to be resolved. If it just resets the adapter, you might have a similar issue to the Envy laptops.

It just resets the adapter after windows diagnostics.

I can see networks from nearby houses so the signals and attenna are strong.

I uninstalled and installed the adapter and it hasnt disconnected in the past 5 minutes.

any other trouble shoot tips let me know

Thanks!

My fix is working so far...

Uninstall everything in the network  adapters section of the device manager

reboot

go back to network devices and right click on the adapter, power management, uncheck allow computer to turn this device off.

I'm worried that this will come back to haunt me after the return period ends.

My Envy x360 intermittent WiFi dropout has not been resolved.  Is your below workaround still functional?
