The wifi connection on my laptop randomly disconnects several times daily. This is the only device on my network that does this so I am pretty sure that it is not a problem with my network. I have tried many different fixes for this......every suggestion that I can find online. My last thought is that there is just some incompatibility with my wifi card and my router/network. Has anyone ever had or heard of this experience? Is a wifi card hard to replace? Do I need to look for a specific model to fit my laptop or are they pretty interchangeable?
THANKS!

Hi:
It is possible that the card itself has an issue.
I have the same card in two HP 255 G7 notebooks and it works fine on both of them.
However, that card is known to have problems along with the RTL8822 model.
If your notebook is still under warranty, I suggest that you contact HP technical support and submit a support case under the warranty to get the card replaced.
In order to do it yourself, you have to buy the card on eBay or elsewhere because the HP parts store has it on backorder, and it has been that way for about two years now.
You can find the part number of the card in the HP parts list for your model at the link below.

Hi:
You would only be able to replace that card with the same model card.
I see that the latest wifi driver for the RTL8821CE is not listed on your notebook's support page, so the only suggestion I can offer would be to see if the newer driver works if you have not done so already.

The current driver was already installed for the wifi card. It must have been installed through windows update I am guessing. Would you think there is any chance that the wifi card is defective in some way and that replacing it with a new one (same model) would help? Thanks.

The most current wifi driver was already installed some how. Possibly through windows update? Is it possible that the wifi card is defective/but still partially working? Do you think it might help to replace the wifi card with a new one (same model)?
Thanks!

You're very welcome.
I hope that you will be able to resolve the problem.
I'm waiting for the cards to conk out on my notebooks too, but I've had them for several months now and so far, so good.
The forum is chock full of complaints about the Realtek AC cards.
