wifi settings vanished after sleep

Wifi was working fine then i put the laptop to sleep (closed the lid). After 2-3 hours, when i started it again, the wifi settings were completely missing from settings. Restarting did nothing. Device manager had the network adapter(Intel(R) Dual Band Wireless-AC 3165) shown when i checked "show hidden devices" but had yellow exclamation. after that i connected to the internet using Ethernet cable which was working fine and did all this to no avail:

• ran windows troubleshoot + hp support assistant troubleshoots. Nothing
• downloaded & installed the only intel WLAN driver shown at the HP product support page i-e version 19.51. The bundled software ran successfully but no driver was added to the device manager. I added the driver via "add legacy hardware" option. Now it is shown without checking "show hidden devices" but has error: "This device is not working properly because Windows cannot load the drivers required for this device. (Code 31) The request is not supported."
• tried to scan for hardware changes. Nothing
• tried updating automatically but it said you have latest drivers installed
• updated the windows to 1903(previously it was 1803). the wifi worked. i made a system restore.. then i put it to sleep and it stopped working when i put it back on :-(.
• turned off fast boot. nothing
• restored it to the restore point i created but wifi didn't worked
• updated bios to F52 from its previous version. Nothing
• tried few bit old drivers from third party websites since i can;t find any old drivers on intel website but the problem persisted.
• did a few more things which i don't remember 

I have had this problem for few days now and i am very frustrated and tired . i don't want to do a windows reinstall because it would take a lot of time and i already did so a month ago.

Any help in this regards would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to the HP Support Community. 

Appreciate you trying the steps. I'd suggest try updating the computer -

Step 1 Windows Updates -

1) In the search box, type and open Windows Updates.

2) Check for updates.

3) If the updates are available, click on install and restart the computer.

Step 2 HP Support Assistant Updates -

1) In the search box, type and open HP Support Assistant.

2) Check for updates.

3) If the updates are available, click on install and restart the computer.

@Asmita6658 Thanks for your reply. However a day after i posted it here, the wifi started working on its own. So it seems the problem is resolved for now.
