HP Pavilion 17t-fooc CTO
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

Because notebook would not open itunes, and would not download updates...I did a system restore to factory settings.

All is well with notebook now...except  it will not recognize any wireless networks.

Home network is fine..other pc using it.

HP troubleshooting says use ethernet cable. Does not suggest anything for wireless.

At network and sharing, manage networks...no wireless show up.

Device manager lists Bluetooth Device (personal area network) and Bluetooth Device (RF COMM Protocol TDi) and Realtek PCIe FE Family Controller. All of these say working properly.  Under other devices it lists a Network controller that says "the drivers for this device are not installed. (code28)"  The network controller location is: PCI bus8, devicce 0, function 0 but no other identifying information.

The airplane mode key does not have a light, but the bluetooth will show up and dissappear in network and sharing center.

I have been unable to get to BIOS...tried removing bat, holding power button etc.

I am using Windows 7 PRO...if that makes any difference.

You're very welcome.

You need these wireless and bluetooth drivers for the Intel 3160 AC wireless card your notebook has...

This package provides the driver to support the Intel 7260/3160 Wireless LAN adapter in supported notebook models that are running a supported operating system.

package contains the driver installation package for the Intel Bluetooth in the supported notebook models running a supported operating system.

Hi:

When you see a device listed as a Network Controller in the device manager, that means you need to install the applicable wireless network driver for it.

I don't know what model wifi card your notebook has, but if you post the hardware ID for the network controller, I will post the link to the wifi driver you need.

Use this guide for how to find the hardware ID...

PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_08B3&CC_028000

Thank you!
