Hi @amirvk,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
The "Class Configuration" error (Code 56) usually indicates an issue with the network adapter or its driver. Here’s a step-by-step guide to troubleshoot and hopefully resolve the issue.
Update Network Drivers
- Open Device Manager: Right-click the Start button and select Device Manager.
- Find Network Adapters: Expand the Network adapters section.
- Update Driver: Right-click your network adapter (it may have a yellow exclamation mark) and select Update driver. Choose Search automatically for updated driver software.
Uninstall and Reinstall the Network Adapter
- In Device Manager, right-click the network adapter and select Uninstall device.
- After it’s uninstalled, restart your laptop. Windows will automatically reinstall the network adapter.
Run Network Troubleshooter
- Go to Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot > Additional troubleshooters.
- Select Internet Connections and run the troubleshooter.
Check Network Services
- Press Windows + R, type services.msc, and press Enter.
- Ensure the following services are running:
- Network Connections
- Network List Service
- Network Location Awareness
- Right-click each service and select Start if they are not running.
Reset Network Settings
- Go to Settings > Network & Internet > Status.
- Scroll down and click on Network reset. Follow the prompts to reset your network settings. (Note: This will remove all saved Wi-Fi networks and passwords.)
Check for Windows Updates
- Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update and check for updates. Install any available updates.
Perform a System Restore (if applicable)
- If the problem started recently, consider performing a system restore to a point before the issue began.
Reinstall Windows (last resort)
- If none of the above steps work, consider backing up your data and reinstalling Windows.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
