wireless projection won't stay connected

HP Recommended
Pavilion 15-au123cl
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I'm am trying to use the Windows project function to wirelessly extend the display from my lenovo Win10 laptop onto my Pavilion Win10 laptop. I have very mixed results. I think I have been able to connect the displays successfully once. The rest of the time it either is unable to connect, or it connects for about five seconds before the connection is lost and the screen reverts to the regular display. Any advice for how to get the displays to consistently connect and remain connected? My productivity would improve greatly if I could get this figured out. Thanks

@mayerweisel Welcome to HP Community!

I understand that you are facing issues with Wifi.

Do not worry. I will try to fix the issue.

Here's a related HP Forums post that seems to have helped others: Click here
I have a few steps to resolve the issue:

  • Since you've already reinstalled drivers, I would recommend using an Ethernet cable (Wired) and update your Wi-Fi drivers using this link

  • Update the bios by visiting this link or through support assistant using an Ethernet cable.

  • Now try to connect to the internet wireless.

The best way to resolve the issue is by using the HP Guided Troubleshooter:

Click here to access it (simply select your description of the issue from the bottom of the screen to gain access to the next set of steps that should resolve your concern).
