Product: HP notebook TOU74
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Visiting relatives.... they have a new wireless router from xfinity.  Everyone can connect but my sister and I:   HP Notebooks... can't even SEE the name of the network on the "availble network" window.  Xfinity tech support hasn't been able to solve the issue.

 

Help me Mr. Wizard

I can't find HP notebook TOU74 anywhere and Google also can't find it. What is your machine actually ? Most likely router only broadcasts 5.0GHz and your machine only supports 2.4GHz therefore it can't see 5.0GHz networks.

 

Please ask your sister to allow her xfinity router to broadcast both (dual) bands which are 2.4GHz and 5.0GHz.
