Hello tabin18.  Can you elaborate on your problem a little?

What is the product number of your notebook?  Use this document to locate the product number.

What operating system are you using?

What program is the problem occuring in?  You state that you can hear them but they cannot hear you.  Is this Skype or a related service?

I will await your response.

Hello again tabin18. So it seems that you may be experiencing an issue with your microphone.

Try using the microphone in another program. I suggest Sound Recorder as it is built into Windows. Just click your start button and type "sound recorder" and it will launch when you press Enter. Try using this application to record yourself. If you're able to record yourself it'll likely be a setting within that specific program. If it doesn't record you then try the following.

  1. Click Start, type "device manager," and press Enter.
  2. Expand the "Human Interface Devices" and "Sound, video, and game controllers" sections. Do you see a microphone listed?
  3. If so, right click and select "Uninstall."
  4. After the uninstall reboot the notebook and allow Windows to reinstall the driver.
  5. Verify functionality and post the result.

I will await your response; have a great day tabin18!
