104-Unsupported wireless network device detected

Hi,

My Laptop is HP Pavilion dv6t-1200 CTO with Win 7 64 bit OS. When I upgraded with a mini wireless adapter card with an N type adapter from existing G type, I am getting "104-Unsupported wireless network device detected". Can't get pass to system boot. The Card I used is "Genuine HP Pavilion g/n  640926-001,  639967-001.  It a brand new part from HP. Why a HP wireless adapter card does NOT work with a same HP Laptop? 

I have done both BIOS >> Default SetUp and also have done BIOS update (from Hp's Drive Download), but same error message.

I called your 'Tech Support' many times. All they do, they transfer my phone from one department to another, with no solution. Looks like HP has nothing but sell useless products and make waste of our money.

It should work on supported models/products of laptops but not yours. You can use cards on page #72 of the 11th manual on the following link:

Banhien is correct.

The reason it must be a supported WiFi is because of FCC regulations.

If you look on the bottom of your laptop or under the battery you will see the FCC regulations.

This is not a solution to my problem. your HP laptop only causes this types of problem. Google the error phrase, you will notice it. Read what every users are saying.. No other computer causes this issue. HP always uses inferior parts as a result, all unsupported issue arises. I can install this same card in any other brand laptop. No FCC or Compatibility issue shows "104-Unsupported wireless network device detected". This part is manufactured by HP and the laptop belongs to HP too. Still does not work. Do you think is is funny..? 

What's the hell am I going to do with this part now..? I already opened from the sealed package. Am I going to present this to my boss for Christmas now,,? Just a waste of money to buy HP laptop and its parts. If this is be the case I will post my "104-Unsupported wireless network device detected" in the YouTube soon.

This a different from amazon.com.  Check this if this following works..?  Yout page 72 says it does for part no:  4322.  This **bleep** HP laptop has Boardcom..adapter g type.

I did not say that it was a solution to your problem it is the cause for the error.

"104" is HP's error code.

"1802" is IBM's error code.

This a different one I found in amazon.com.  Check this if this following works..?  Your page 72 says it does for part no:  4322.  I have HP laptop pavilion dv6t-1200 CTO.  I am in USA.  The laptop has a  Boardcom..adapter g type.

The one I found in Amazon.com is follows. The Part says '4322'as per the seller in the Amazon.com. Will it work for me..? I have AC router so I need at least N speed.

If you look at the picture you will see REPLACE WITH HP SPARE. "487330-002"

That example is for Australia and not the US . " The label you want has REPLACE WITH HP SPARE. "487330-001"

If it does not have that label do not purchase it.

Hi,

Can you you please find something from Amazon.com? As I can return, if does not work for my laptop? (Anything sold by Amazon or in Amazon-Marketplace are return warranted). But eBay is not. Please note I have AC and N type Router bandwidth.   Please find only a AC or N type card as I have AC router.
