Remove both memory modules and put one of them in the soDIMM slot closest to the inside of the notebook.

Boot into Windows to see if ther error repeats itself. You may have to run the notebook in a lower memory configuratio for a couple of days to test the module. If the first try resolves the issue, then the other module has issues and should not be used.

Replace the memory modules as an identical pair with a new set of guaranteed compatible memory modules from a well know memory maker such as Crucial or Corsair.

Beeps during startup, without accompanying led flashes, normally indicate a memory module issue. Reseat the memory modules to see if that resolves the issue. If it does not, then test the memory modules by removing one at a time to see which module is failing. The lack of beeps will show you which one is OK.

See the following document for a tutorial on how that can be done.

I tried cleaning and reseted the mem moduals. It does not do it all the time. I ran the MS testing no problem found. This is a Pavilion DV4 4270us.

The intermittent occurrence of the two beeps is still indicative of a failing memory module. Eventually your notebook will no longer boot up when powered on.

There are  free standalone memory tests that will allow you to stress test the modules.

I tried memtest86, it found no errors. Today after the desk top came up it beeped twice. Is there another reason for the beeping?  BTW thank you for tring to help me!
