Hi!

I'm not able to get the displayport on my 2540p to work. I have connected it to an hp lp2465 monitor through the displayport (both on the docking station and on the laptop) to DVI-D adapter cable, but the monitor does not show up in windows, and the display says "no signal". I've gone through all the graphics option, but no external monitor is found. When I use the VGA connector it works fine, but I would like to go digital...

I'm running windows vista.

Help would be much appreciated! Thanks!

Hi,

Take a read of this HP document relative to digital display output from your notebook. There is no DVI out on the docking station but there shoud be output from a displayport to DVI-I adapter connector to an LCD display or HDTV.

The HP document also lists the part number for a compatible displayport to DVI-I adapter for your notebook

Best regards,

erico.

Hi,

Sorry, where was the link to the document?

I have the adapter from displayport to DVI-D, but this is not working at all... 😞

Thanks,

According to the document, it should work with a displayport to DVI-D adapter, which is what I've been trying to use (not the HP adapter, but these are standard interfaces to that should not matter). Unfortunately, this does not work for me... 😞 I'm using the latest drivers from the HP webpage but no success...

With the displayport cononected to the external video have you tried the  fn+f4 keystroke to select the external output?

That is the same as with an external projector or LCD display.

Hi,

Unfortunately not working. Neither Windows nor the display seems to even recognize that I plugged something in.

Perhaps it is even a faulty cable... I'll try with another display and even another computer to see how that works. Thanks anyway for all your helpful suggestions.
