Product: 255 G6
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello guys,

 

I recently bought an HP notebook 255 G6 - running on AMD A6-9220 processor. It came with Windows 10 pre-installed. 

 

I want to install Windows 7 on it, because it's sluggish on 10. But HP support only offers drivers for Win 10:  https://support.hp.com/ro-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-255-g6-notebook-pc/15932854

 

Any ideeas if I can find drivers for Windows 7? Or what would happen if I install Win 7, would it find some matching drivers?

Microsoft won't support Windows 7 and 8/8.1 on new generations of Intel and AMD processors therefore other vendors won't write drivers for Windows 7 and 8/8.1.

 

You may want to try and hope.

I bought the same laptop
Same sluggish performance on Win 10 64bit

So did a fresh Install of Win 7 ultimate 64bit.. Running.smooth..

You can. Get the specific drivers for this hp 255 g6 notebook for win 7 here
