Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

laptop won't power up. my wife was using it and it went dead. Only light on is the power light on the front edge. swapped battery and external power adapter from known working unit - still no power on. No lights come on when power button is depressed.

Please release the static power and check for the issue. Try the steps below :

 

a) Remove battery from the Notebook.

b) Press and hold the power button for 30 seconds.

c) Connect AC adapter and try to power on the Notebook. 

 

In case if issue persist please contact HP.

Hi Friends,

 

Please follow the step to fix this issue

 

Step -1

 

Remove the battery and disconnect the Adapter .

 

Step -2

 

Press the power button for 30 sec and connect the adater ( Without battery ) and turn it up.

 

Step -3

 

Check with some other good adapter withou connect the battery .

Try Dry boot,remove AC and battery,hold on power button for 30 seconds, then retry, if issue persists, it need hardware diagnostic

I had this same issue and your solution worked for me, but now what do I do? Can I put the battery back in again or do I need a new battery?
