I want to replace the standard harddrive with an SSD. The product manual says max size supported is 256 GB. Is that a fixed max size or a historic assumption?
Can I get a Samsung SSD 500 GB to work in this model?
Thanks

Thanks. I was really pondering about this statement in the product datasheet
Internal Storage12
320/500/750 GB 7200 rpm HDD, 500 GB 7200 rpm SED (Self Encrypting Drive) HDD, SATA 6 Gb/s 128 GB SSD/180 GB SSD,29 SATA 6 Gb/s 256 GB SED SSD; HP 3D DriveGuard10
I suspected that the SATA driver on the device may not allow me to have 500 GB SSD
Thanks

So I got my Samsung SSD 850 EVO 500 GByte. I have my 8.1 image on a USB 3.0 stick and want to install it in my elitebook 8470p. Seems to be a bigger issue. The USB is not recognized as bootable device.
I've updated the BIOS and the Intel USB 3 drivers. Seems like I need to spend more time on figuring out if anything in the BIOS is preventing it or if it has issues with the USB 3 hardware or if in the end the disk is still not right for this notebook.
If there is any experience, let me know ...
