Hi @kailash9,

Welcome to the HP Forums!Smiley Happy

For you to have the best experience in the HP forum I would like to direct your attention to the HP Forums Guide Learn How to Post and More

I understand that when you power on your notebook you hear a noise for about 30 seconds before the notebook boots up..  It is normally to hear the fan come on and the hard drive spin up before the notebook boots, this can take a few seconds.

When you state the notebook hangs before booting. How long does it hang.  Do you have any issues with the notebook once you have booted into Windows?

Have you checked for viruses or malware?  Microsoft Malicious Software Removal Tool.

To rule out hardware as an issue here is  HP Notebook PCs - Testing for Hardware Failures (Windows 7, Vista).

If you believe you have an issue please provide the exact model of  DM4 notebook.

How Do I Find My Model Number or Product Number?

Best of Luck!
