The embedded controller (EC) did not respond within the specified timeout period. This may indicate that there is an error in the EC hardware or firmware or that the BIOS is accessing the EC incorrectly. You should check with your computer manufacturer for an upgraded BIOS. Hello hailex.
Do you have another Windows 8 computer? If so, you could create a System Repair Disc and see if it can fix any damaged system files. Here are the instructions.
Let me know the results.

Hello .
Here is what has been happening . My system files are all intact. With suggested booting techniques from hp support my Computer Boots up ( such as the win key + B key and pressing power button for 15 sec ) etc .. so when the computer boots up ( some times it totally doesn't ) I can work just fine with win8.
I've figured out that(with repeated trial/errors ) that when ever I plug in the battery, its very likely that It will not bootup and I know the battery is old.
So now, how can I fix this error from within my running operating system?
Regards
