Hi,
The first thing I'd try is the following.
Connect your notebook via HDMI to your Tv. Right click the speaker icon in the Taskbar and select Playback Devices. Left click once ( just to highlight the entry ) the ATI HDMI Output and then click the Set Default button - see if you now have audio.
If the above doesn't help, can you post back with the following details.
1. The full Model No. and Product No. of the notebook ( from the service tag underneath your notebook ) - see Here for a further explanation.
2. The full version of the operating system you are using ( ie Windows 7 32bit ).

2. Open windows Control Panel, open Device Manager and open up Display Adapters - what is the full name of the device listed here?

Hi,
Ok, if both machines are the same Model and have a Windows 7 64bit installation, this should apply to both.
First, download the graphics driver installer on the link below and save this to your Downloads folder.
http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp49501-50000/sp49519.exe
When complete, open windows Control Panel, open Programs and Features and uninstall the AMD Software and drivers ( if you see an entry for AMD Catalyst Install Manager, right click this and select 'Change' to access the uninstall option ).
When the above has completed, restart the notebook.
Next, open windows Control Panel, open Device Manager and open up Sound, Video and Game Controllers. Right click the Realtek HD Audio device and select Uninstall - do not delete the driver if the option is shown.
When done, open your Download folder, right click the AMD installer and select 'Run as Administrator' to start the installation.
When this has completed, restart the notebook again and let Windows fully load for a few minutes. Connect your notebook via HDMI to your Tv. Right click the speaker icon in the Taskbar and select Playback Devices. Left click once ( just to highlight the entry ) the ATI HDMI Output and then click the Set Default button.

The problem is HDMI cable. just change to a good quality cable, the problem solved.
Anyway, thank you, DavidPK. I really appreciate what you did.
