Hello!
I need to upgrade my RAM on my HP Touchsmart 14-b109wm laptop. I am running a Virtual OS on my laptop through Hyper-V. In doing so, I am running out of available RAM. I find myself trying to constantly tweak the amount of RAM in my Virtual Session. I think the ultimate solution is to upgrade the RAM.
My laptop currently has 4GB of RAM installed, that came with the laptop. My questions are; does the laptop come preinstalled with one or two modules? Which modules will I need to purchase to get a max of 8GB installed? How do I install the RAM modules in this model laptop?
Thank you in advance.
Rich

Hi RichFla
This is your product User guide. Here is your product specifications. This is your produt home site.
You can upgrade upto 8GB maximum. There are 2 customer-accessible slots available & you can buy one more identical 4GB RAM for the upgrade & both can act in Dual-channel configuration for better performance.
About the RAM frequency, the user guide does not give reliable information for Celeron processors. So better you find that from System Diagnostics via BIOS setup soon after powering on the laptop.
See Page 66 Chapter 5 Removal and replacement procedures of User guide & you can see that, for installing memory module you have to take the System motherboard out. Its better you give it to nearest HP service center for the upgrade since they'll be having all the tools required.
Thanks
