Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Greetings

I need to access to the advanced BIOS of my laptop - HP pavilion 15 bc450ns, BIOS f31

I need to deactivate XHCI because my USB 3.0 doesn't detect properly a microphone. If there is another way to change to EHCI that can be done without BIOS, that will work too.

This laptop has two USB 3.0 and one USB 2.0. However, the microphone doesn't work in any.

Before I get useless replies...

- I've researched for almost a week the internet, even went to computers store to test stuff

- W10 Pro N with all updates

- Mic works in old pcs, and other pcs even with USB 3.0, I guess because they don't use XHCI

- A laptop that uses 3.0 and it didn't work, I deactivated XHCI and now it works

- I know HP laptops have locked BIOS, but I need a solution other than "buy another microphone"

- I know that supposedly 3.0 is backward compatible with 1.0 and 2.0 but for some reason, it doesn't work

- Cable is not the problem, I even got new cable

- Actually the microphone was detected and worked fine a couple times, randomly and no sense, but then I restart laptop and it doesn't work anymore. Let's say it works 1 time over 50 tries (maybe less)

@Anamura

HP has locked out the Advanced BIOS options -- so there is no way to access them. Sorry

Seriously this is the only "solution"? Never going to buy another laptop from HP, it's so stupid. What if you buy a random peripheral and it doesn't work in USB 3.0 and you can't deactivate XHCI because HP locks the advanced BIOS? I guess HP doesn't care about that but it's terrible customer service.

Yes, it is clearly NOT a "solution" -- but it is HP's policy and I am merely telling you about it.

Do you think downgrading the version of the BIOS might solve the issue?

Is there any chance to solve the issue?
