JayceWyman,

What is the model number you had the black screen with?  I just bought an Omen16 from Best Buy 16-WD0073dx.  My understanding is that only 16-XF or 16-WF have the black screen hall sensor problem.  They also have ports on the back.  Mine does not have ports on the back.

I've hp omen 16 (2023) ax model ,bought in early 2024 & what I've researched that all 2023 model have IR sensor issue (due to overheating) & some have build quality issue or screen issue but mostly common is IR sensor issue (motherboard issue). So i found a best solution for it that buy a Llano cooling pad ( it drops max 20°c temp) but make sure you're room is 20c to 40c then it will work else in hottest environment nothing works, also use good budget thick thermal paste on CPU & GPU as well as modules , nearby vrams. So that you can't get issue or headache on temperature.Thx if u got me.
