HP 2000-2b09WM
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

Hi guys.

I am installing Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 (64 Bit) on my wife's HP 2000-2b09WM Notebook PC.

I found a post on this site, which gave me a link to sp63802.exe, a driver for Qualcomm Atheros AR9000 Series Wireless LAN Driver for Microsoft Windows 7, downloaded from http://h20566.www2.hp.com/hpsc/swd/public/detail?swItemId=ob_123851_1

That driver did not work for me.

Now, I am remembering this same situation, once before. Does this ethernet card require a 32 bit version of Win7? Or is there another driver I can use?

 Thanks.

Hi:

It appears the support website is down.

You could have used the Realtek LAN driver from the  HP 2000z-2a00 series, which has a full set of W7 x64 drivers that can be used on your model.

Since the support site is down, use the ethernet driver directly from Realtek...second one on the list.

You're very welcome.

That one is from the HP 2000z-2a00 series which has a full set of W7 x64 drivers.

That series is the closest one to the 2b series.

Greetings.

Good and bad news: I now have wireless, but still no ethernet.

I must have a hard line to the router for security.

 So, what now?

 Should I try Windows 7 32bit?

 Thanks.
