Hi,
My Laptop recently gives message that "no audio output device is intalled".
Even if I go to Control panel then Hardware and sound then sound, It gives the same message.
The Product is HP dv6500, 32-bit system, Windows Vista.

Hey corridors,
I'm sorry you're running into this error message. Do you have sound via the speakers or headphones?
Which Pavilion dv6500 do you have? Pressing the FN + ESC keys is the quickest way to bring up that information or check out these steps to find your exact model/product number. Once I have your exact model/product number, I can provide you with direct links to the drivers (BIOS and Audio) that may be affecting audio output.
Let me know if you have any questions

Thanks for providing your BIOS version! 🙂
Actually there are quite a few different Pavilion dv6500s (40 different 6500s in the U.S. and 194 different 6500s outside the U.S.). I'm asking for the model number which would be, for instance, "dv6573cl" or "dv521tx".
I could also use the product number, if that would be easier to find. It looks like "RV155UA#ABA" or "GN422PA#ABA". If you used FN + ESC to bring up your BIOS information, you should see your exact product number there.
I tried to use that serial number, but it brings up a Pavilion dv6645eo, which is a later series than the dv6500, so unfortunately I couldn't use that.

Hey Emmanuel
Thanks for providing your product number 🙂
The latest BIOS version available is F.34, so F.07 is outdated. Here is the latest audio driver and BIOS version.
Conexant HD Audio Driver version 4.36.7.60 B
Download and install both of those. Your computer will restart on its own during the BIOS installation. Allow it to restart and get back to the Windows desktop, then test the audio again. Let me know the results of those updates. The outdated BIOS could certainly be the cause. BIOS stands for Basic Input Output Sytem/Service and it controls how all of the components communicate with each other.
I'll keep an eye out for your reply 🙂

Hi Axshun Jaxun,
Thank you for your continued help.
I have installed the system BIO succesfully, but the Conexant HD Driver failed to intall, gives the message that, it can not find the device for the driver.
Thanks once again in advance.
Emmanuel

Ok thanks for letting me know that. There is one other audio driver listed that may be worth a try.
Conexant HD Audio Driver version 4.31.0.50 A
Try that one and let me know what you find out.
If you're still getting the same error, follow these steps.
1. Click Start and type in 'services'
2. Open the one that looks like this
3. Scroll down to 'Windows Audio' and make sure the column next to it says Started and Automatic.
If it doesn't, let me know what it says and try right-clicking it and clicking Start.
4. When it says Started, try installing one of the two audio drivers again.

Also try these steps
1. Click the Start button
2. Type 'device'
3. Click Device Manager
4. Expand Sound, video and game controllers
5. Right-click on the item listed under Sound, video and game controllers
6. Click Update Driver Software
7. Click Browse my computer for driver software
8. Click Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer
9. Choose High Definition Audio Device
10. Click Next and wait for it to install
11. Click Close
Then check your volume in the System Tray next to the clock (bottom right). Try playing sound. Let me know if that helps 🙂

Dear Axshun Jaxun,
Thank you for continued effort to help me.
I have discovered that my Laptop has no Sound, Video and Game controllers, just has system speakers.
So missing of Sound, Video nad game Controllers made caused the steps you game not to work.
I have troubled a lot, if there is no way out I can just mange without sound.
Otherwise thanks very much for efforts to help me.
Emmanuel.
