HP ENVY x360 15.6 inch 2-in-1 Laptop PC 15-eu0000 (267R8AV)
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I am experiencing some sound issues with my HP Envy x360 15.6 2 in 1 Laptop.

Not sure if this is a driver issue, but the sound quality through the external jack is very poor (tinny, no bass in particular), also cannot seem to connect a USB microphone or any USB device such as a MIDI keyboard, these devices are not recognised or as is the case with the keyboard it disconnects after only a few seconds.

I have also noticed that even when using the internal mic the sound does not properly record. It seems only record intermittently or in most cases not at all.

I have tried running HP Support Assistant but it doesn't seem to think there are any audio issues at all. I have seen this previously mentioned with this laptop but so far have been unable to find a fix. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

It could be a hardware issue but before we conclude on that, you can check this page to verify the state of your audio device.

Click on Audio Check and see if it will help give you a better idea of the problem.

Thanks for the response.

The Audio Check indicates there are no issues found with anything. More likely to be a hardware issue then?

Very likely that it is a hardware issue at this point.

If your warranty is still valid, you can use it as soon as possible.
