Since the problem with the BIOS update is resolved, do not attempt that again until this other problem is resolved.  " I'm also having problems with downloads stalling at 60% " is weird.  check to see if the browser is having trouble with all downloads or just some of them.  BTW: what browser are you using?

Xhoo4ua#aba. Pavilion dv5- 2135dx.
I was never asked to do another bios update. Still cannot do a backup. iTunes movie downloads are very slow. Other than that it seems to work.

Another area of concern is Linkseys advised their e1000 wireless router won't work because of an aetheros driver problem. This is mind numbing as a laptop needs wireless to actually work. At least this is my understanding. So far I haven't had a problem but know in time I will n
