Unfortunately,  business machines such as Probooks or Elitebooks have more stringent security than consumer models - they don't produce 'halt codes', the password cannot be derived from the Serial No. and the code is stored in non-volatile memory so removing the RTC cell will not reset the password in this case.

 

If you Contact HP Business support and are able to prove ownership, they should be able to send you a customised SMC.bin file which you can use at boot to reset the password - the only other method that will work on these machines is to replace the bios chip.

I have a HP620 laptop now sometime
back i set a bios password now i have forgotten it and it wont start without me going to f10 and entering the password i dont remember it now how do i reset it and also it says hard drive imminent failure press f1 to continue or run HDD test at f10

i have a friend who gave me a laptop from a deceased family member and he does'nt have the password.  After 3 times it says "system disable"  KEY: 60425220 .               thx.
