Hi I bought a HP Envy 17-j100 a few months ago. I remember fiddling with the BIOS settings and now when I tried tobaccess it, it demands an administrator password, and i have no idea what it could be. Upon 3 tries, the serial number I get is 36700162. Please help me, I need to get out of this situation real fast. Thanks in advance.

I tried installing my new solid state drive and it won't let me access the boot manager, I tried going to the bios and asks for the administration password, but after 3 times, I get a "systems disabled with the serial number 55404006. Any help is much appreciated thanks!

Hi folks!  First post, be gentle and all that...

I have a g6-2240sa that I'm attempting to resurrect with a dead HDD.  Upon attempting to replace the HDD and get into BIOS, I find that the BIOS is password protected, and the previous owner cannot remember it. It's not his old Windows password, I've tried that...

Anyway, the code I'm getting is 55180478.   If you could do the necessary I would be forever in your debt to the price of a beer or two. 😄

Secondly, the laptop came with Windows 8 and he never made any recovery disks and there is no product key on the laptop. Is there any way around this?

Cheers folks!
