Hi,

I've just tried software from:

http://bizsupport1.austin.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/Document.jsp?objectID=c03161127&lang=en&cc=u...

This tool found my BIOS version, Computername, Date & Time. Unfortunately after that I've got a mesage:

<ERROR msg="Failed to change the Setup Password. This may not be a supported platform or the new pasword is too long for this platform."/>

<Warning msg="BCU return value" real="10" translated="10" />

Of course I tried with short (4letters) password ;-(

Any idea? What shall I do?

thx in advance

daras

Hi,

I have a 8510p laptop that I let a friend borrow and it came back with a bios password lock. I am sure it was some prank gone wild.

My serial number is:

S/N:[Personal Information Removed]

p/n: GR539AW#ABA
