I have a Base System Driver AND Ethernet Controller "missing". I have an ASUS 64-bit Windows 7 laptop. I looked for the Hardware ID but it wasn't under details of the driver. Both say "The drivers for this device are not installed. (Code 28)" under their status. Please help I don't know too much about drivers

Hi:

You don't look under the driver details tab.

You look under the device details tab.

Just follow the guide below on how to get to the ID's.

This will work for Vista, W7 and W8.

http://www.devicedriverfinder.com/blog/device-drivers/how-to-check-the-hardware-id-for-a-windows-dev...

For XP, you just click on the Details tab.

I can tell you that a Base System Device is normally a card reader, so go to your PC's support and driver page and download and install the card reader driver.

Of course, the ethernet controller is the wired network adapter but I would have no clue what driver you need unless I can decode the hardware ID for it.

Hi, I found it

Base System Device:

PCI\VEN_197B&DEV_2384&CC_088000
PCI\VEN_197B&DEV_2384&CC_0880

Ethernet Controller:

PCI\VEN_197B&DEV_0250&SUBSYS_19051043&REV_03
PCI\VEN_197B&DEV_0250&SUBSYS_19051043

Hi:

You can try this driver for the base system device, since HP uses the same JMicron card reader driver.

http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareDescription.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&prodTypeId=0&...

I can't help you with the ethernet driver because HP does not use the JMicron PCI Express Gigabit Ethernet Adapter in any of its PC's that I know of.

I'm sure you can find both of these JMicron drivers on your notebook's support and driver page.

Hi, Petter:

I suggest you also post your question on the HP Business Support Forum -- ML Servers section.

http://h30499.www3.hp.com/t5/ProLiant-Servers-ML-DL-SL/bd-p/itrc-264#.UuFq1Onna9I

I also suggest you provide the operating system you need the drivers for.

There are many operating systems listed under the support page for the ML350p G8.

http://h20566.www2.hp.com/portal/site/hpsc/public/psi/swdHome/?lang=en&cc=us&sp4ts.oid=5177962

Most of those devices labeled 8086 are Intel devices and may be chipset driver related.
