I know this is a old post however I currently have this problem.  Battery will not charge and after being on computer it just shuts down and restarts...computer will not operate without being plugged in...however after a while it will shut down without warning...thanks for any help.  I did try removing battery and holding power button for 30 sec ...didint work in this case..Thanks for any help...

i dont think this is a solution ,

my problem is that :- the laptop does not get charged although it shows charger plugged in and shows 46% but when the plug is removed then game over :smileyindifferent:

thankyou I had the same problem with my compaq and I did what you said and it worked!! I was going to buy a new battery but I said I can try this and it really worked thanks a lot 🙂
