Hehe I have now installed the fix I hope it works.
On a other issue? All the reviews said the speakers in the new kaby lake spectre are amazing but I really dont agree. Not that I have great experience in laptop speakers and whats good and whats bad. What do you guys think of ur speakers? Iam worried mine maby are not like they are suppose to be.

to f1fan: it doesn't like you have anything to lose? Create a restore point and try the fix?
to elusivedream: the speaker is one of the best for its pc class(utlrabook) , if you compare to the new macbook it's comparable if not louder, sound quality is a bit lower.
vs macbook: https://youtu.be/vNMrMoT5cb0?t=6m20s
vs yoga 910: https://youtu.be/_H9XUNjQLEk?t=9m46s
if you think it's bad then try reinstall driver?

Do you think its ok to try on a HP Spectre 13-4108na x360, thats what i have. Anyone else tried the fix on a older model.

I just ran & installed this SSD firmware update. Everything went exactly as described in the Update Instructions PDF.
A couple comments:
1. Windows tried to stop me from running the .exe files. I just clicked on 'More Info' and selected 'Run Anyway.'
2. It took me a couple minutes to figure out what 'Run Install_QIO_File as Administrator in "DC Mode" meant. Finally figured out that means UNPLUG THE AC POWER ADAPTER before running this .exe file.
3. As Rajamahal mentioned, the automatic shutdown in Step 6 took 2 or 3 minutes, not a few seconds.
I'll check battery drain overnight and post my results.

HP Spectre X360 Kaby Lake People!!!!!!!
Great news from me!!!:smileyvery-happy:
It has been over 24hours, and the battery is at full 100%!!!!!! absolutely no drain.
I can confirm now the Sphinx fix from Senchronize works like a charm!!!! Kudos!!!!
I am not sure if the same fix would apply to other spectre models, may be others who have explored can confirm, i am thinking the fix is hardware specific but then i am not expert.
Hope it solves the battery drain issues while powered off for all of you, at least for the late 2016 x360 kaby lake models.
You know what's funny?? I have been in touch with HP support on this for more than 2 weeks now in parallel, HP support has come back to me to test the battery using HP support assistant and send them a snapshot of the result is OK. This is after providing them all details of trials and test as posted here in the forum. I even asked them to look at this forum link. Hopeless primary support! I will point them again here so they can learn a thing or two.
Good luck guys!
Cheers

THTA"S RIGHT GIVE ME ALL THE KUDOS!!! !!!!!
Jk, it could be that this is for a specific OEM NVME drive SSD that we 512 gb has, the 256gb i5 version could have a different drive that requires a diffetent fix, or if others with the same i5 model tried it and report back results.
And don't forget to set solution so others can find it now OP Kmohan

Good to hear! For me the fix didnt work. What spectre do you have? ive got the new late 2016 with kaby lake i5 processor.
You'd think it'd be using the same pcie ssd controller board?
Can you explain in what way it didn't work? Verification didnt show v14? If the computer didn't restart on its own twice for both installation files you may have not waited long enough.
