...It would also be helpful if an HP support moderator or expert would chime in and offer any input if this new BIOS version addresses the issues that have been widely reported in this thread. I won't hold me breath though...

Please keep us posted.  HP replaced my battery yesterday, and I suspected it did not solve the problem.

I have the F10 version of bios on my spectre installed yesterday by tech support and it doesn't seem to address the battery drain concern. I could notice the drain still when the machine was rebooted from shutdown.

Others pls give it a go and post your outcomes.

Cheers

Where are you guys seeing/finding this F10 version? When I input my Spectre's model number I'm only getting the following BIOS version: F.43 Rev.A

BIOS version F10 was updated by HP tech support for me. A BIOS update utility was run which updated the version. It might be worth reaching out to Tech support to get the link if one is available from an official source already.

Thanks for your response. However, I have the following HP Spectre X360...

HP Spectre x360 13-4193nr Signature Edition. The link that you have provided seems to be a different model than what I have.

HP tech team needs to acknowledge the issue first, identify the root cause, then may be there will be a fix via BIOS or some drivers. Not sure when this will happen. And I doubt HP recognised the battery drain issue prior to releasing the F10 version, from release notes, it looks more like a support for latest Microsoft OS version and nothing more in terms of fixes.

cheers

I have now installed the latest bios update for my HP Spectre. I will now turn of the computer and start in 1 hour to see if anything has changed. The battery is at 47 % now.

I also have downloaded the BIOS update. Testing the PC now and will report success or failure tonight
