HP Stream 13
Microsoft Windows 8.1 (64-bit)

Hi,

I bought a Stream 13 for my daughter about 6 months ago. She hasnt used it too much.. a few days ago the battery suddenly disappeared! It only works on power now. Is there some sort of warranty that covers this? I didnt expect the battery to go kaput in less than 1 year! Especially since it seems to be integrated inside the laptop somewhere!

Thanks!

Hi @streamowner ,

Thank you for visiting the HP Support Forums and Welcome. It is a great site for information and questions. I have looked into your issue about your HP Stream 13 Notebook and issues with the battery not charging or faltering. Here is a link to calibrate and test the Battery. Calibration should eliminate this issue.

Plug the power adapter directly into a functioning wall outlet. Do not plug it into a power strip, surge protector, or secondary power source as this could cause and issue.

HP Battery Check in HP System Diagnostics for Windows 8, would give you details of charging and discharging.Testing and Calibrating the battery using HP System Diagnostics in Windows 8. At the starting of the Notebook, Press F2 to select F2 System Diagnostics. Then choose Component Tests, then battery.

If this does not help, please use the following link to create yourself a case number, then call and it may help speed up the call process:

Step 1. Open link: www.hp.com/contacthp/
Step 2. Enter Product number or select to auto detect
Step 3. Scroll down to "Still need help? Complete the form to select your contact options"
Step 4. Scroll down and click on: HP contact options - click on Get phone number

Case number and phone number appear.

They will be happy to assist you immediately.

Thanks.

Thanks, I will try that - I also noticed that it gives me errors 502 (CMOS configuration is invalid) and 601 (battery is not holding charge) on startup.

I did run the BIOS component tests and it said it could not detect any battery.
