HP decided to get the laptop back for full diagnostic. It was amazingly fast process, I have to give HP A+ for services. Got the laptop back, the problem was duplicated with full diagnostic software. The problem was the BATTERY, at least it was on the ticket. I just hope this battery will last at least a year. The last one only lasted a few days.
Now, for the people who said it's just a pin, it's a different failure. This failure is AC connected, but not charging. AC adaptor is out, the battery level sits still and doesn't go down at all even while you're using the laptop. Diagnostics software can't detect the battery.
If the bent center pin doesn't touch the connector pin, it will not detect as "CONNECTED". I looked under a microscope and mine was straight.
Cheers,
Louis

If your laptop is still under warranty, do it quick, if it does these:
1. AC adapter plugged in, the message will say, connected but not charging. The AC LED (white) will blink and not steady (working condition). HP Utility Battery Check will fail to access the battery.
2. AC adapter is NOT plugged in, but the battery indicator will not go down while being used. The battery check will fail also. The AC LED will also blink after a while.
3. The battery indicator doesn’t go down while being used , the AC adapter plugged in, no message, just the AC LED blinking.
Try to fix it with Windows key + b + power to reset the battery (3keys together).
Go to HP Support chat, they're very fast and helpful. They will try to help you to solve the problem. They problem may be solved but temporary. Watch this video, this is how mine failed and it's been fixed 3 times by the HP chat technicians, but the battery was defective.

Well, after many hours online with HP chat they said I have bad battery controller and I have to send my laptop back to them for a fix. I haven't even had it for a week! Wondering if I can just take it back to BestBuy and get a new one?

If you can, go back and get a new one. The problem is, yours may be sold as open box item and the problem will be for the next buyer.
Mine was also 1 week old.
I think, HP got a batch of defective batteries this time.
Cheers,
Louis
