Elitebook 8440p

I purchased a used elitebook 8440p on ebay, which appeared to work just fine. The free upgrade from winows 7 to windows 10 was super cool, until a Bios update was made available and it was  obvious that the previous owner had put in a BIOS ADMIN PASSWORD.

After downloading the new bios , and then all sorts of other "soft packs", and spent 24 hours trying to install the new Bios it is now apparent that it's not happening any time soon!

Can you please tell me what it will take to update the bios?

After having spent countless hours going round and round, simply chasing my tail ( so to speak)  I have followed your instructions to the letter, which removed the password, and then ran HPQFLASH which updated the bios to the latest version.

I can't tell you how much I was smiling! Grinning like a "cheshire cat". Thankyou very much, you sir are an absolute scholar!

Now the laptop bios has no password at all , which is preferable to being totally locked!

Thank you very,very much
