Hi everyone!

I wanted to format my HP 6730s laptop, but, to my surprise, I couldn't because the BIOS seems to be protected with a password I had no knowledge of before.

Is there any way of resetting this password? I need it, without this password I cannot change boot order to reinstall any OS...

(I've read something about removing the battery from the motherboard but I prefer to avoid such a thing).

Thank you very much.

Welcome Artuvaz.

Removing the BIOS battery will do nothing.

So the only thing I can do is buy a chip from ebay? Why do I have to do that? Am I not free to format my PC?

This is amazing...
