I read your posts again and see that now.

Was there any other software that was changed?

Not that i can think of, i haven't played around with anything to do with my graphics cards for a while.

When i went into control panel and looked at installed updates, there were 3 "update for microsoft windows" that installed on the same day that i did the bios update, but i doubt they effected anything.

Do you think i should trying going back to the orignal bios version?

if so,  either via the "F2 option" in the start up menu or by downloading it?

Or are there anyother options????

thanks

I would uninstall them as a test and restart the system to check before doing anything else. Check in the Microsoft knowlegebase or by a Google search to see if others are having problems with any of the three updates.

if so,  either via the "F2 option" in the start up menu or by downloading it? Download it from the support portal for your notebook and double-click the softpaq. You can also extract it from the softpaq with Winzip or another archiving program and manually install it via the same means you rolled it back before. The choice of selecting the ROM file is in the options.

Or are there anyother options???? there are two options in  the answers to the previous question.

thanks

Right. Ive done everything i can imagine;

ive tryed every version of my computers bios updates avalable. (f.05, f.06, f.07, f.09)

Ive also tried suggested drivers,all compatable drivers, HP stock drivers (including catalyst control center versions) and even tried incompatable drivers that stop switchable graphics from working but made for my graphics card, Not to mention i tried most of the metioned drivers on most of the bios versions.

Ive tried other games...

ive seen other posts similar to mine regrarding driver issues but ended up being resuloved by finding the correct drivers ( i tried all of the drivers avalable)

Im starting to think it might be a hardware issue but even if it was, i should be getting worse problems than just fps in games...

Im stumped, i have no clue what could be causing it..

Any ideas?

i checked the microsoft updates.. They wont be the issue, just windows media updates etc.

From BIOS run a memory test and a hard disk test.

You may also consider running the system file checker.  Invoke a command line window (with admin priveleges) and type sfc /scannow.  Windows will inspect all system files and will generally replace those it finds to be corrupted with a clean copy from Windowss own file repository.

What are the specifics on the updates?

Hey again.

Ive tried everything sugested, "sfc /scannow" didn't detect any missing files.

Did the BIOS tests today, they took like 4-5hours to complete but they came out positive, nothing wrong with them..

The 3 updates that were installed the same day i did the bios update are;

KB2709981- Windows media updates

KB2574819 - Datagram Transport Layer Security (DTLS)

KB2592687 -  Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP) 8.0

Still completely confused.

Try an older video driver.

one thats compatable with switchable graphics or not?

ill try either...

I would tend to stick with the driver that is part of a switchable graphics software package.
