A bad hard drive can cause can cause this stop. Try removing the hard drive and see if you can then get into BIOS. If you get the halt code again after not accepting your password-write it down to post here.

nothing happen ma'am, I remove even the RAM & the coin Battery. I heard only CPU fan working & the CD ROM, nothing HDD LED flashing. I use external monitor & pressing F4 still no BIOS window.
I already change the HDD, also the OS to Win8, the HP_TOOLS is already gone, so I downloaded the HP System Environment and install it to USB, I download also the BIOs file in the HP download pages and pressing the windows + B key, 5mins to an hour, nothing happen or sound.
Last year, I bring it to HP services center before it end the warranty in the Philippines because of overheating problem... and now after 10months black screen.

I'm thinking that something blocking or disabling the system to function.
Any idea ma'am.
Happy New Year!

Hi,
Remove the hard drive, install memory, CMOS battery, main battery and boot up. It looks like there is something wrong with the keyboard as the system couldn't accept the BIOS password. Try the boot without the hard drive and see if you can go to the BIOS. You may also repeatedly press esc at startup. I see you have got the HP UEFI Firmware Diagnostic Utility. There are options for testing components and the system itself. Plug it in and press F2 at startup..

It's hard to say but my guess is that the board/socket is gone. It could also have been the SATA connector issue on the Sandy Bridge chipset. You mentioned that you were doing some hw demanding tasks and also the laptop had issues with overheating. The issue with the Sandy Bridge laptop was that in these conditions something caused a malfunction of the motherboard.

You may try to replace the CPU but I think that's the board.

I use only for my freelance job...
Even the service center in the philippines don't see the problem of overheating... after searching the web my brother find the problem... "symptoms of the primary HDD failure" soo we changes the primary HDD and back to normal.
...and that happen...:smileysad::smileysad::smileysad:
