Hey everyone,

I have a HP Pavilion dv6-6027tx. It does not boot up anymore.

When the power button is pressed, I can hear the fan spinning, the caps lock light blinks once about every 3 seconds and keeps on blinking till power is unplugged. There is nothing on display.

Am I correct in assuming that this blink code means a faulty CPU?

According to this: http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c01443366

Or could it be something else? It is hard to identify the blink code as the caps lock light just keeps blinking at regular intervals. (3 secs)

I have done a power cycle,  taken out the CMOS battery, tried an external display, tried changing RAM and tried flashing the BIOS using a USB with the UEFI support environment tool with no luck.

Please let me know whether my diagnosis is correct.

Thanks in advance for all the help Smiley Happy

It's either the processor or board, but hard drive have to be tested too for any fail. But since you're not able to power it on, nothing matters.
Try reseating the hard drive by disconnecting & reconnecting the SATA cake if you can & check if it has come.
If yes, do the hard drive test- quick & extensive from BIOS System Diagnostics tapping F2 or F10 soon after powering on.

You may try changing the battery or just plug it in AC adapter too to check that out.

Do a hard reset and see if anything is coming: http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c01684768

If no response is there, better contact HP in your region.

thanks,
