Olaglam,

Okay thank you for your reply, right now it sounds to like the operating system is corrupt. Did you ever create backup of the OS on a set of dvd’s when you first got the system?

Please respond at your earliest convenience.

Thanks

Hello Olaglam,

Okay, I would recommend you contact the HP help desk for the disc. Now if they are available the only discs they will have are the vista disc because the computer came with that originally. If you end of up getting the disc and taking that route whatever information you have on this PC you would lose if you haven’t backed up.

Contact number for HP help desk if you’re in the US or Canada is 800-474-6836, if you reside in another location use this HP worldwide contact link. Just selection your location and it will provide you the number.

If I have been helpful or if you’d like to say thanks you can click the white star under my name to give me Kudos.  I really appreciate it.

Please respond at your earliest convenience.

Thanks

Hi Nessa_82,

I understand you are trying to backup your documents before a recovery.  Is the computer able to start to Windows screen?  What is the current operating system and model of computer?

You could look at this document on a collection of the most frequently asked questions.
