My HP g6-1d70us running on windows 8 64-bit's sound just stopped working after shutting down.

When I move my mouse to the speaker icon on the task bar, it shows a message "No audio output device is installed".

When I run the troubleshooting, it says "Bluetooth Hands-free audio has a driver problem".

Please, what do I do?

Hi felixchip,

I believe that you have a hardware issue at this point with the sound card and your case it is an integrated card right into the motherboard. I would recommend that you have someone take a look at the hardware. You can call HP Total Care at 1-800-474-6836 in North America or start here if you live outside of North America.

Please click “Accept as Solution ” if you feel my post solved your issue.

Hi @felixchip

What do you have connected via Bluetooth? Did you try the troubleshooting steps from the link in the previous thread we were working on? Is that how you got the Bluetooth error? Does the sound work when you plug in a set of headphones? Try installing your IDT High-Definition Audio driver and let me know if you get an error message when installing it.

After trying the steps in the other thread, it moved from"No sound card installed" to "Bluetooth hands-free audio has a driver problem". I have tried uninstalling the IDT audio driver and reinstalled it. But, I have the same problem. When I plug headphones, it says "no audio card installed".

Expecting your reply.
