i put my new hard  drver in my hp 2000 laptop but i try install the operating system  on my hard disk i have  window 8.1 on a cd so i can put on my comuptor

1) restart your comp 2) press esc key continuosly to invoke boot options 3) Press F10 4) go to system configurations 5) set all options to enableb (note :especially the item under IPV4 , this allows older versions of windows to be installed ) set the boot options to start with internal CD/DVD ROM installed on your computer ,(This will enable the computer to boot from your Win CD) 6) Save changes and reboot your computer ( make sure to save changes wheb prompted to do so )

I tried to on my laptop this morning and I saw. Boot device not found please install an operating system on your hard disk. Hard disk (3f0) F2. System diagnostics

Did you tap F2 to use System Diagnostics to test your hard drive? If so what were the results?
