No, that is not correct. This is a brand new HP Revolve 810 G3. The USB ports have the little SS on the port. On other hardware, this thumb drive works only in USB 2.0 ports without the little SS on it. Here is a link to the specs:

The problem here is specifically with booting a USB 3.0 drive with a USB 3.0 port. The drive is accessible after the OS loads. It also boots fine when it's in a USB 2.0 port on other hardware.

Here are the boot options
Legacy mode off:
PCIe/M.2 SSD Drive (UEFI)
Msata Hard drive partition: 2
Notebook Ethernet IPV4
Notebook Ethernet IPv6
Boot from EFI File
Legacy mode on:
PCIe/M.2 SSD Drive
Notebook Ethernet
I guess I may just need to call HP Support on this one....

Try This Change The Boot Order From
Legacy mode off:
PCIe/M.2 SSD Drive (UEFI)
Msata Hard drive partition: 2
Notebook Ethernet IPV4
Notebook Ethernet IPv6
Boot from EFI File
To:
Legacy mode off:
Boot from EFI File
PCIe/M.2 SSD Drive (UEFI)
Msata Hard drive partition: 2
Notebook Ethernet IPV4
Notebook Ethernet IPv6
