If I open the Camera app on Windows 8.1, it says "To get started, connect a camera."

So to double check it wasn't just a problem with the Camera app, I installed Skype and tested the video. Under Options->Video in Skype, there are no cameras detected.

After that I figured it was a problem with the drivers, so I went here: http://h20564.www2.hp.com/hpsc/swd/public/readIndex?sp4ts.oid=6629140&swLangOid=8&swEnvOid=4158 and installed the "Manageability - Driver Pack (1)" for the HP ElitePad 1000 G2.  Restarted the computer and no change.

So I looked up some troubleshooting threads and tutorials and most suggested to look "Imaging device" in the Device Manager, but in my Device Manager, there isn't any Imaging device option.

I looked that up and the consensus was if that wasn't available, go to the Universal Serial Bus controllers option and check there for webcam drivers that need to be updated. In that category I only have "Generic USB Hub", "Intel(R) USB 3.0 eXtensible Host Controller", and "USB Root Hub (xHCl)", nothing for cameras.

So I found this tutorial: http://support.hp.com/ca-en/document/c03430151 And it says if "If there is no Imaging devices category listed, select Action, then Scan for hardware changes.", so I did that, and nothing changed.

Can someone suggest a fix?

I'd like to try adding legacy hardware and manually giving it the driver for the cameras, but I can't find them. By default it only provides drivers for Dell, Kyocera, Lexmark, and Xerox. Where can I get the Imaging Device drivers for the cameras specifically of the ElitePad 1000 G2 tablet?

I'm back with the same problem again here: http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Hardware/Windows-not-detecting-ElitePad-1000-G2-camera-even-af...

Unfortunately this time installing that didn't seem to work! :indifferent:
