My PC clock keeps changing - both when booting pc - but also during "opening hours" - suddenly it changes while surfing or chatting.

The PC is from november 2008 - so duing search on the web - it must be the CMOS battery that needs to be changed?

But where do I find it on the PC and how do I change it - furthermore what type is it - where do I buy it?

I have been trying to find the answer on the HP support pages  but haven't found it yet?

Does any of you nice people out there have the answe`r?

Hi,

The manual you need is for the HP Pavilion dv3000 Entertainment PC and HP Pavilion dv3500 Entertainment PC notebook maintenence and....

There is a section in the guide titled removal and replacement and under that there are component replacement procedures and beneath that there is the RTC battery. That is the one you want. It has a description and some images.

RTC batt1.jpg

RTC batt2.jpg

The HP part number for the RTC battery is 468824-001

Have fun disassembling  your notebook!

best regards,

erico
