I just purchased an HP Envy. I sure thought I had selected WiFi with Blue Tooth, but received a WiFi only WLAN controller, the Qualcomm Atheros AR9485 Adapter. I would like to replace with the Qualcomm Atheros AR9565 WiFi + Blue Tooth Adapter, if that's possible.

I downloaded the service manual (Document Part Number: 764148-002) to review the procedure. A little confusion, it shows the same HP Part Number (675794-005) for both adapters.

Thank you in advance!

Hi @ericlibra ,

Welcome to the HP Forums!Smiley Happy

It is a terrific place to find answers.
For you to have the best experience in the HP forum I would like to direct your attention to the HP Forums Guide Learn How to Post and More

I understand you would like to replace the  Atheros AR9485 Adapter. with the  Atheros AR9565 .

You checked the manual and it lists the same part number for both cards, which I would also find confusing.

I would be happy to check for you, but I will need some additional information as HP produces many Envys.

How Do I Find My Model Number or Product Number?

What Operating System are you running and is it 32 or 64 bit?

Hi ericlibra,

Thank you for your response.

You are absolutely correct when you stated the manual listed the same part number for both cards.

Here is the correct product number for the Qualcomm Atheros AR9565 802.11b/g/n 1x1 +Bluetooth 4.0  is 690019-001.

Here is a link to the HP Parts Store where I searched with that product number and it found the correct card.

As this  is a CTO model if you ordered that card and it is not what you received I would contact HP support and report the discrepancy.

Please call our technical support at 800-474-6836. If you live outside the US/Canada Region, please click the link below to get the support number for your region. HP Sitemap

I hope this has helped!
