I am having trouble dragging folders into other folders or moving files into other files.  Also, when I click on anything, it thinks I'm right clicking, but when I'm right clicking it won't work.

Hi,

This can happen due to different reasons:

- Could be mouse issue

- After Windows Update

- UAC Control

- Security Software..etc

There is a very easy solution for this problem which has worked for many..so you can also try it once...

i) Press Control + Alt + Delete

ii) And then Press Esc

Check if it works now..

If this doesnt work then try this:

- Turn Off and ON UAC

Let me know if none of these fixed the issue..

I think its the mouse. None of those worked but when i plugged in a mouse and didn't use the touch pad it worked. Any suggestions or do we have to use the plug in mouse?

Yes, there are two steps you can do that should fix the problem...

i) Uninstall and Reinstall the Touchpad drivers from Control Panel. You can download the latest drivers for the Touchpad from HP Support and Drivers page after entering the correct product number for your notebook.

Drivers and Downloads

ii) Download and update the latest Version of the BIOS from Drivers and Downloads

You can also check the settings for the touchpad from this link:
